She had her Akad Nikah on 12 May at 2pm, and her reception the next day at Dewan Hikmah at 10am. I didn't cry during her whole wedding ceremony, but now that I'm looking at the pictures.... god, I just realized I might never see her again the way I used to!
Ekieeeeeeeee!!! I'm gonna miss u!!!!!!!
You deserve all the happiness in the world, my friend. Don't forget us yaarrr!!! Congratulations!

Mt. Kinabalu: You rule! part 3
When we got back to the hotel, my mind decided to FINALLY let me feel the pain that I managed to keep at bay through sheer willpower during the climbing. My leg muscles cramped up so bad that I didn't get out of the bed for the rest of day. Everyone was in pain, but I have lower-tolerance for pain than those two, so I took longer to heal. I managed to get a fever too. And I threw up. Sweet, right?
After this expedition, I now realized that I suck. I totally suck!!!!!!!!!
But you guys go ahead and climb Mt. Kinabalu though. Even if you're not going to climb the mountain, KK the city is definitely worth a visit! So nice and metropolitan there! Us girls walked, okay limped, around town looking for souveniers while Abah opted for an island hopping adventure that day, and he took the camera with him, hence the island/ beach-like pics.

Mt. Kinabalu: You rule! part 2
So. Hani and I couldn't even climb up to the peak, because we were soooo not able to. We stayed at Laban Rata, recuperating, while Abah went with John to the peak, but from what I understand was not to the highest peak, because he was soooo not able to too. Hahah. Hey, we climbed Mt. Kinabalu, we just didn't reach the highest peak! That's something, right? Don't judge! Bak kata the park rangers, "Lain kali coba lagi". I hear you rangers, I hear you.
Going down the mountain today was faster (it took us 5 hours), but just as hard as when we climbed up. My knees buckled unexpectedly a couple of times, because it shook so hard. Eh, the positive side is that I managed NOT to land on my face. The last couple of metres were a killer though. Total killer. But the elation I felt when we finally reached the park HQ... man!! I love you tanah rata!

Mt. Kinabalu: You rule! part 1
After the Mulu trip, we went straight to Kota Kinabalu and checked in to Sutera Harbour Resort (totally posh), because the next day we were going to conquer Mt. Kinabalu. What, you think I made this up?? We totally did. And let me tell you, I didn't have much enthusiasm/ energy for another adventure trip, but Abah already paid for it... so, buat je lah. You can see on our faces (me & Hani) how tired and drained we were. I don't know where Abah got his energy.
As I said before, I didn't do any training prior to this climb so... my experience is a total anomaly compared to other mountaineers because of that reason lah. The climbing up of the mountain to Laban Rata, the last pit-stop for climbers before the Peak, took us almost 7 hours, when our guide, John, told us that on average it only took 5 hours to climb up. I know!! We totally suck. If you see us smiling in the pictures, please know that we were TOTALLY FAKING IT. John told us we were lucky because the day before it was raining hard, and the trail would've been much harder to climb were it was wet. Thank you, God. And I mean that, wholeheartedly.
We finally reached Laban Rata around sunset. When I saw the dorm, I almost cried with relief! Relief was short-lived though, because there was no hot water, and our heater doesn't heat up the room at all. Freaking cold! Luckily I packed packets of wet tissues so we used that to freshen ourselves with... I think I might just die if I had to take a shower with the icy cold water (exaggeration). Didn't even eat, because we were too exhausted to bother. It was while I was lying on my bed, covered in barely adequate blankets that I realized I definitely could not climb UP anymore. I definitely could not wake up at 4am and climb to the peak. I was done. Hani came to that conclusion earlier because she did have a harder time climbing up due to her asthma. In the end, only Abah was determined enough to do the 4am climb to the peak tomorrow.
Stop judging!

Trip to Mulu: 3rd Day
today was activity-less day. yiiihaaaaa. Hani and I of course opted to stay in bed but Abah wanted to walk around the hotel premises. whatever tickles your fancy, Abah.
our flight to Kota Kinabalu was in the afternoon, so pretty much us girls only pack our bags, like, one hour before departure time hahah.
today's pics courtesy of Abah, who took all these pics of the hotel ground.

Trip to Mulu - 2nd Day
now y'all know i'm allergic to exercise, so after 6km worth of hiking back and fro yesterday, you'd think that i'd dropped dead right away. behold the miracle of modern medicine! Abah has wisely provided some drugs to 'numb' the pain... some muscle relaxant something or other. so today would be another exciting day of more exercise, with more pain as bonus. bliss.
hahah kidding y'all! it wasn't that bad (thanks to the drugs), and we did enjoy the hike. so today we went by boat to Wind and Clearwater Cave. Nelson, our guide, told us on normal days we could take a dip in the Clearwater Cave, but it was raining hard last night, so the water was really rapid (it was a big cave). the Wind Cave has weird rock formations and, erm, wind. really beautiful.
in the afternoon we hiked some more to the Canopy Walk, for a walk among the trees. definitely something to remember for an acrophobic (fear of heights) like me.

Trip to Mulu: 1st Day
Abah, Hani and I went to Mulu from 14- 16 January 2007, because we're CRAZY PEOPLE. it's an adventure trip, where we went traipsing around Mulu National Park terrorizing the local inhabitants with our ill-equipped selves.
stayed at the luxurious Royal Mulu Resort though, but couldn't fully enjoy it because... well, we were killing ourselves at the National Park of course.
1st day in Mulu we hiked 3km to Deer Cave (to see the flying bats) and Lang Cave (weird rock formations). When it was time to head back we hiked 3km back in the rain... in normal circumstances that wouldn't be ideal but dudes, i really like my poncho!

Trip to Mulu: tak jadi
we were supposed to go to Mulu today, but some freak accident at the airport prevented it. there was a cargo plane that skidded off the runway in the early morning, so they had to close the runway until further notice.
our flight plan was from Kuching - Miri - Mulu, with changing of planes from Miri to Mulu. since we were going to miss our Mulu flight, we thought we would just reschedule our flight for tomorrow instead. hence the sad faces. we coerced Mak to do sad faces too (she sent us to the airport) haha.

Day 2: Aidilfitri 2006
Raya Kedua! seronoknya! cuci pinggan lagi! sepanjang hari mencuci pinggan telah membuatkan kulit tanganku mengelupas... ape ni Sunlight kata gentle on your hands?? dusta.
Best tak best cuci pinggan pakai baju glamer? bestttttt. Walaupun tak sehectic raya pertama, tapi tetap la hectic sebab raya pertama tu CRAZY hectic. kenapa saya pakai baju kurung lama? kerana saya hanya ada 2 pasang dan raya pertama dah pakai 1 pasang, 1 pasang lagi simpan untuk beraya di rumah kawan2.
Hari ni Emmanuel datang untuk beraya, tapi takde gambar sebagai bukti. thx Eman, you helped me got out of the kitchen!

Day 1: Aidilfitri 2006
wazap wazapppp!!!
heheheheheh gambar tak touch-up2 kat photoshop kerana malas. sekian terima kasih.
